The newly uncovered emails sent and received by Dr. Anthony Fauci reveal that the White House chief medical advisor and director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases has a very cozy relationship with the Chinese Communist Party.
Mainstream media outlets were granted access to nearly a thousand emails sent by Fauci through several Freedom of Information Act requests. Among the uncovered emails include digital exchanges between Fauci and Dr. George Gao, director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention and one of China’s leading virologists and immunologists.
The exchanges between Fauci and Gao took place between March and April of last year, just as the coronavirus was sweeping through the United States in full force. (Related: Email: Researcher who funded Wuhan lab admitted to manipulating coronaviruses, thanked Fauci for dismissing lab leak theory.)
The exchanges between Fauci and Gao began on March 28, 2020, with the latter sending an apologetic email.
Before he sent the email, Gao told the magazine Science that it was a “big mistake” for public health officials in the United States – including Fauci – to not recommend wearing face masks. Gao emailed Fauci in an attempt to clarify his remarks. He wrote:
“Dear Tony, I know you are working extremely hard with a lot of pressure. Hope the U.S. Situation is getting better eventually. I saw the Science interview, how could I say such ha word ‘big mistake’ about others? That was journalist’s wording. Hope you understand. It was NOT a real interview but a QaA through social media for several days when [he] asked me what China has done and is working on. Let’s work together to get the virus out of the earth.”
Fauci, who claimed to be receiving upwards of 1,000 emails per day, apparently had the time to reply to Gao despite his busy schedule. He wrote the following evening: “George: Thanks for the note. I understand completely. No problem. We will get through this together.”
Fauci reversed his stance on face masks on April 3, 2020. He told Americans that they should use masks to cover their mouths and noses to stop the spread of COVID-19. He was immediately criticized for giving mixed messages regarding face mask use. Fauci later claimed he recommended against face mask use to prevent the American public from panic-buying masks. At the time, face masks and other personal protective equipment were in short supply, and hospitals were struggling to keep their employees protected from the virus.
On April 8, just as Wuhan lifted its notorious 76-day total lockdown and life in the communist nation was regaining some semblance of normality, Gao heard about supposed threats against Fauci’s life and emailed him to send his well wishes.
“I saw some news (hope it is fake) that [you] are being attacked by some people,” wrote Gao. “Hope you are well under such a irrational situation.”
Three days later, Fauci found time to reply to his longtime friend: “George, Thank you for your kind note. All is well despite some crazy people in this world. Warm regards, Tony.” The alleged threats from “crazy people” would lead federal officials to assign Fauci with a full-time security detail.
Not once during any of Fauci’s conversations with his Chinese counterpart did he bring up whether Gao knew where the coronavirus came from.
Fauci received hundreds of other emails, including from an executive at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. This message revealed that, on April 1, 2020, Fauci spoke with billionaire Bill Gates through the phone regarding the possibility of the federal government working together with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to develop a coronavirus vaccine.
The doctor claimed that Gates was “enthusiastic about moving forward on a collaborative and hopefully synergistic approach to COVID-19” that involved the Gates Foundation working with federal health authorities.
The Gates Foundation executive, Emilio Emini, also heaped praise on Fauci. “I see you on TV almost every day, although you continue to have considerable energy, I am seriously worried about you. The nation and the world absolutely need your leadership.”
“I will try to engage as much as I can given my current circumstances,” replied Fauci.
Fauci remarked in an interview with a mainstream news outlet that he has maintained a long and close relationship with Gates. He said he and Gates would remain in touch every two weeks regarding how to make sure everybody in the world gets a coronavirus vaccine.
The emails reveal that Fauci conversed with hundreds of other people, including the medical director of the National Football League Players Association, who asked Fauci for a confidential briefing on how the National Football League can safely start its next season. A documentary filmmaker also asked Fauci if he and his crew join him for work as they made their Disney-backed documentary film.
The emails even show exchanges between Fauci and senior members of the Republican Party. On April 10, Rep. Fred Upton of Michigan told Fauci to “keep being a science truth teller.” Fauci even exchanged emails with former vice president Mike Pence’s chief of staff, writing that he wishes him a “peaceful and enjoyable day with your family.”
